C. Richard Newsome, the firm's founding partner, received his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. He also graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree from The Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. Rich began his career as an Assistant District Attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice. He is highly published in his area of specialty, products liability law, and was recently awarded an AV Rating, the highest rating an attorney can receive, by Martindale-Hubbell. He was also named for a second time by Florida Trend Magazine as one of Florida’s Legal Elite, and again named in the Best Lawyers in America publication. Rich is a former President of the Central Florida Trial Lawyers Association, serves on the Board of Directors of the Florida Justice Association, and actively participates in several areas of the Academy of Trial Lawyers of America, including the Committee on Scientific and Medical Integrity and products liability section.
