Graco Recalling Child Seats

Graco Children’s Products Inc. is recalling over 270,000 Comfortsport 5 point harness child restraint systems manufactured from January 2, through July 31, 2007. The seats were manufactured to be used in either the rear or front facing positions. When used in the rear facing position with the lower anchorage belt, the seat fails to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 213, Child Restraint Systems. The seat back angle can exceed 70 degrees, which in the event of a frontal crash, could seriously increase the risk of injury to the child. Graco will notify registered owners and provide instructions for inspecting and possibly reconfiguring the belt routing on the seat.
