Suzuki Aerio to be Recalled

American Suzuki Motor Corp., is recalling 14,251 Aerios due to the potential for the gear shift cable to detach from the shift lever. The retaining clip that secures the gear shift cable to the shift lever may rub on the shift housing. If too much lateral force is applied to the shift lever while shifting into first gear, the clip may break causing the cable to detach. Once this happens the driver will no longer be able to change gears with the shift lever. Dealers will replace the defective cable free of charge.
